Robin Hill - IOW
One loop. One clock. Your race.
The Lap is a 6 or 12 hour trail running challenge set in the woods and trails of Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight.
The idea is simple: complete as many laps as you can before the clock runs out.
Run solo and find out what happens when it’s just you, the trail and the hours ahead. Or take it on as a pair or team, relay-style — one runner on course at a time, tagging the next back at camp.
And if a bit of friendly rivalry helps, bring it. Enter multiple pairs or teams and race your mates, colleagues, training group or run club across the day.
You don’t have to run continuously.
Stop. Eat. Drink. Sit down. Regroup.
Head back out when you’re ready.
But the clock keeps moving.
Every lap brings you back through the event hub, with food, drink, music, supporters and live timing before you disappear back into the woods again.
Track your laps, distance and progress throughout the day, follow the live leaderboard and let friends and family follow along too.
Supporters are very welcome at Robin Hill, so bring your crew and make them part of the day.
As daylight fades, the event changes with it.
Lights come on. The woods get darker. The camp gets louder. And that decision to head out for another lap starts to feel a little different.
Some will race it.
Some will chase a distance they’ve never reached before.
Some will simply see how long they can keep saying:
“One more lap.”
There’s no prescribed way to take on The Lap.
Just keep moving, keep coming back to camp and see where the day takes you.
6 hours. 12 hours. How far can you go?
One loop. One clock. As many laps as you can.
Choose 6 or 12 hours and complete as many laps as you can before the clock runs out.
Run hard. Take breaks. Chase a distance. Race someone else. Or just see how far you can go.
Around 5km of woodland, trails and hills.
A mixed-terrain lap through Robin Hill with enough variety to keep things interesting — and enough climbing to make you respect it after a few hours.
Just you and the clock.
Run when you want. Rest when you need.
There’s no requirement to keep moving continuously.
Your race. Your strategy.
Share the laps. Share the suffering.
Pairs and teams run relay-style, with one runner on course at a time.
Complete your lap, return to camp and tag your next runner.
Swap every lap, run several at a time or build your own strategy.
Want a bit of competition? Enter multiple teams and race your mates, colleagues or another run club.
Follow the race as it happens.
Track your laps, distance and progress online throughout the event.
Live leaderboards will let runners and supporters see how the day is developing.
Bring your people.
Friends, family and supporters are very welcome at Robin Hill.
Base yourselves around the event hub, watch runners return each lap, follow the live results and provide a bit of encouragement before they disappear back into the woods.
Both races finish at 8pm.
As the light fades, the atmosphere changes.
Expect headtorches, music, food, supporters and a very different final part of the day.
And maybe one more lap.
