Something to keep us racing, training and motivated through the winter!
The Vectis Academy Winter Track Series, timed by Wild Isle Events, is a series of five Tuesday evening track events at Sandown, spread across the winter.
The series mixes traditional track racing with a couple of slightly different challenges
27/10/26 - Night 1 - 5K
24/11/26 - Night 2 - 3K & Metronome 1600
22/12/26 - Night 3 - 5K
26/01/27 - Night 4 - 3K & Flying 400's
23/02/27 - Night 5 - 5K
Metronome 1600 – four watchless laps where consistency is as important as outright speed
Flying 400's Speed Challenge – multiple attempts to put down your fastest 400m
You don't need to be the fastest runner on the track to be competitive.
The series will use age-graded scoring, adjusting performances for age and sex so runners of different ages can compete against each other in the overall standings.
We'll still publish all the normal times and finishing positions too, so you've always got your own performances and PBs to chase.
Each round forms part of the overall Winter Track Series, with points contributing towards the final standings. Best 5 of 7 results count to the series
The events are professionally chip timed by Wild Isle Events, with online results and series standings throughout the winter.
The idea isn't to make Tuesday track super-serious — quite the opposite. It's about giving everyone some targets through the winter, adding a bit of friendly competition and giving all that cold, dark Tuesday-night training something to aim towards!
The series is for Vectis Academy members and takes place as part of our normal Tuesday track sessions.
There is no additional race entry fee — just turn up and pay your usual VA track session fee.
Five nights. Seven challenges. One winter series.
